Challenge
The State Emergency Service (SES) asked for a garment that volunteers could use to change discreetly. Their work often takes them to remote places with no shelter, and many return from a job in wet or soiled clothing.
The item had to be respectful and suit all body types. It also had to carry the service's branding correctly, because the SES and Flood Rescue logos have to look the same on every piece.
Solution
HTG Group branded 500 hooded towels with SES logos. A hooded towel is practical and inclusive. It covers the wearer, it works for people of different sizes, and it is easy to use in the field.
We used our in-house embroidery to apply the SES and Flood Rescue logos. Embroidery holds up to washing and rough handling, which suits an item that gets used outdoors. The logos sit on the front and the back, so the towel is easy to recognise from either side and every piece looks consistent.
The process for a job like this is the same each time:
- Prepare the artwork from the logo files supplied
- Digitise the logo for stitching on towelling
- Check a proof and the placement before production
- Embroider the full run and check the finished pieces against the specification
Towelling is soft and thick, so the stitching has to be planned for that surface or the logo can sink into the pile. We prepare the digitised file with that in mind.
Result
The towels were delivered on time and to specification, within tight timeframes. They met the service's operational and brand standards, and they now support SES volunteers in the field.
The job shows what we can do for organisations whose gear has a real task to perform. If you need specialist branding on an item that has to work, talk to us about your project.
The same embroidery work is shown on our embroidery service page and in our work gallery.
