Government and emergency services uniforms

Uniforms for council and agency staff, outdoor crews and volunteer units, with crests and logos embroidered in-house at our Unanderra workshop.

Public sector uniforms do two jobs. They keep staff safe at work, and they show the public who they are dealing with. A ranger, a depot crew member and a library officer all represent the same organisation, yet they need very different clothes.

Council and agency staff

Most councils and agencies have several uniform groups:

  • Outdoor crews in roads, parks and waste, who need hi-vis, workwear and PPE
  • Rangers and compliance officers, who need clear identification and gear for all weather
  • Customer service, library and visitor centre staff, who need a smart, consistent look
  • Office staff, who may only need a polo or shirt for site visits and events

Plan each group on its own terms, but keep the logo, colours and placement the same across all of them. Our hi-vis range covers outdoor crews. For counter and office staff, see corporate uniforms, including shirts and polos from Biz Collection.

Purchase orders and records

Many public sector buyers order through purchase orders and cost centres. Tell us what your quote needs to show, such as a PO number or department name, when you enquire.

Keep a uniform register with garment codes, colours and logo files. When someone leaves or a new team forms, reorders then match what is already in use.

Volunteer units and paid crews

Volunteer groups and paid crews get their uniforms in different ways. Paid staff are usually issued a set kit by their employer. Volunteers might receive gear from their unit, buy items themselves, or fund them through fundraising. Membership also changes through the year as new people join.

For a volunteer unit, it helps to agree on a short list of approved items, such as a polo, a softshell and a cap. Order them as members join. We keep your logo on file, so one new member's shirt matches the rest of the unit.

Operational protective clothing for firefighting, rescue and similar work is usually specified and issued by the parent agency. What we supply sits alongside it: polos, jackets, caps and hi-vis for training nights, community events and station duties.

Crests, insignia and approvals

Many agencies control how their crest, name and insignia are used. Before we stitch an official crest, check whether your unit needs written approval from the parent organisation, and send us the approved artwork.

Crests often carry fine detail and small lettering, which can be hard to stitch at chest size. We prepare the artwork for stitching and send a proof for you to check against your guidelines. If a detail will not stitch cleanly, our design team will suggest a change you can take back to your organisation for sign-off.

Embroidery is the usual choice for crests on jackets, polos and caps, because it keeps its shape and colour through regular wear.

Events and fundraising

Open days, community fairs and fundraising drives often need volunteer tees or caps in a one-off run. DTF printing suits event designs with lots of colour. Caps, bags and drink bottles for stalls and giveaways are covered by our promotional products range.

Most orders are completed within 10 business days. Contact us or call 02 4228 3508 to talk through your uniform groups.

Australian made, organic and eco-friendly options

Many buyers ask for these first, so we make them easy to find.

  • Australian made gear

Australian made garments and products are available for teams that want to back local manufacturing. Ask us which items in your range are made in Australia and we will point you to them.

  • Organic options

Organic cotton options are available for tees, polos and more, for businesses, schools and events that want a lower-impact garment. Tell us what you need and we will show you what is on offer.

  • Environmentally friendly

We decorate to order, in-house, so nothing is made in bulk that you do not need, and we help you choose garments built to last. Fewer replacements means less waste.

Common questions

Can you embroider our agency or unit crest?
Yes. HTG Group embroiders crests and insignia from approved artwork and sends a proof before production. Many agencies control how their crest is used, so check whether your unit needs written approval before you order.
Do you supply uniforms for volunteer groups?
Yes. HTG Group supplies polos, jackets, caps and hi-vis for volunteer groups, and keeps your logo on file so new members can be outfitted to match the rest of the unit.
Can a council order different uniforms for outdoor and office staff?
Yes. Outdoor crews usually need hi-vis, workwear and PPE, while counter and office staff wear polos or corporate shirts. HTG Group can supply both with the same logo and placement so every group looks consistent.
