Educators spend much of the day on the floor or outside. Their uniform has to survive paint and sunscreen, and still look tidy when parents arrive at pick-up. Schools and centres also need gear for days outside the classroom, from sports carnivals to working bees.
Early learning centres
Childcare educators spend the day kneeling and lifting. Polos with some stretch, plus pants or shorts that allow a full squat, make a long day easier. Mid-tone and darker colours hide marks better than white or pale shades.
Embroider each educator's first name under the centre logo. Children learn names faster, and new families can put names to faces at drop-off. It also saves pinning a badge to a shirt that small hands love to grab.
Order a few spares in each common size. Childcare uniforms get washed constantly, and a spare means nobody turns up in their own clothes.
School staff
Teachers and support staff often wear a branded polo on sports days, excursions and playground duty. Use the school colours and crest so staff stand out in a crowd of students. Polos from Biz Collection and JB's Wear come in a wide colour range, which helps when you need to get close to a school's colours.
For office and front desk staff, a shirt or blouse with a small crest keeps the look consistent. See our corporate uniforms page for options in women's and men's fits.
Hats for outdoor time
Many schools and centres have a sun protection policy that covers staff as well as children. Broad-brim and bucket hats give more cover than a cap. A small embroidered logo on the front keeps hats matched, and makes a lost one easier to return. Check your own policy for the hat style and sleeve length it asks for.
Getting your colours right
Your logo colours carry across both stitching and printing. We pick the closest thread colours for embroidery and show them on a proof before anything is made. If you only have a low-resolution logo or an old crest on letterhead, our design team can redraw it so it stitches and prints cleanly.
Parent events and fundraising
P&Cs and parent committees run fetes, discos, working bees and fundraising drives. A run of volunteer tees makes helpers easy to find on the day. Canteen volunteers may want aprons with the school crest.
For full-colour designs, house colours on carnival day, or names on the back of leavers' hoodies, DTF printing handles fine detail and individual names well. Tees and hoodies from AS Colour make a good base. Caps, tote bags and drink bottles can be sold as fundraisers through our promotional products range.
